Kan Matsubara was a philosopher who played an important role in the established of Nihon University College of Art.
An exhibition titled “Kan Matsubara and 100year of Nichigei”was held in 2021.

One of his representative photos, with his eyes full of hopes and passions looking to the future. In contact to the eight representative colors of the different departments of art, his black and white photo depicted the connection between the past and the presence. To accentuate the title, the fonts were in dot design, symbolizing each contributor to Nichigei.

This exhibition was successful, because of just timing of 100year of Nichigei anniversary.
Many people like Kan Matsubara, children nowadays are provided more opportunities to pursue what they want to study, students in Nichigei are ones of the lucky ones.
