For my introductory typography class at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), I was assigned to create a type specimen brochure. I chose to make one for ITC Avant Garde Gothic, the most geometric sans serif font created by Herb Lubalin and Tom Carnase.

Since ITC Avant Garde Gothic Typeface is well known as the most geometric sans serif font that is mostly used for print advertisements, I used advertisement related quotes, especially about how to create creative ads, as an example to explain distinct features of ITC Avant Garde Gothic. The brochure includes the history of ITC Avant Garde, Type anatomy, an explanation about geometric sans serifs, ITC Avant Garde Family, weights and widths, type combinations and ligatures.
