The aim was to produce an arresting recognisable image to convey concerns about climate change that could be used in multiple instances and offer solutions to climate change as well as uncomfortable facts.
The idea for the exclamation mark developed after reading an article written by energy correspondent Jillian Ambrose for the Guardian Newspaper (25 Oct 2019), which refers to research by the International Energy Agency (IEA). The article highlights the enormous potential of offshore windfarm energy to satisfy the worlds' supply of electricity, a fact that doesn’t seem to be common knowledge.
