True Story is Kevin Hart's first real dramatic role. Our challenge was to convey the dark side of his character, despite Kevin's reputation as a stand up comic and comedic actor.

We used dark tones and a moody color palette to convey the psychological thriller aspect of this limited series. Reflected on the car window is a billboard image of Kevin Hart's character smiling, that almost covers his menacing scowl, to show the dichotomy of his character.

Netflix felt that this poster nailed all of their objectives, and True Story became the #1 Netflix US drama after its release.
