This poster was created in response to rape and genocide of Darfur.
In addition to providing a web page for viewers to get more information, I wanted to create a poster that made people feel uneasy visually as I did learning about the rapes, violence, and mass death in Darfur through print and broadcast. I drew female legs spread eagle in the form of silhouette. These legs were deliberately rendered thin, sickly, and fragile. Used the form of African in red, I wanted to invoke painful bloody violation... for women and the continent of Africa.
