Greyton is a small town set in the mountains in the Western Cape, South Africa. It is a popular destination for romantic weekend getaways and long Sunday lunches. The restaurant sets itself apart from other restaurants in the main street through its changing daily menu and a 'fine dining' style which includes dishes like home made pastas, slow roasted lamb shanks and desserts that include home made preserves and relishes. All accompanied by a selection of boutique and garagiste wines only found in the area.
We chose to work within the elegant, traditional 'fine dining' style of an etched illustration, black and white, with crafted typography but to present an unusual view of a Peccadillo - which is a little sin, or indiscretion. A slight over indulgence or wickedness. This is in keeping with the nature of a weekend romance destination and yet also an invitation to let your hair down a little, ignore that diet and just enjoy wickedly good food.
The restaurant has been going for 5 years and had quietly slipped from the restaurant and weekend guides attention. The new branding has attracted far more bookings but more importantly through the increased exposure it has been included in the Louis Vuitton Cape Town City Guide which will bring a steady stream of international foreign tourists as well the local weekend holidayers.
