Asbury Automotive Group, one of the largest dealership networks in the country, was looking for a high-impact way to promote the launch of Clicklane, their brand-new online car-buying site. Unlike the competition, Clicklane is 100% online, with no need to visit a dealership. It’s also the first to offer both new and used cars, and to have the support of local dealers.
Because Clicklane is such a unique offering, and because the online car sales space is becoming increasingly competitive, we proposed a TV commercial that would really stand out. Then, we created “Couch Guy”—a super-relaxed, supremely confident spokesperson who literally rolls into a new ride without ever leaving the sofa.
The client was extremely impressed with the commercial, particularly how it set Clicklane apart while playfully poking fun at the competition. Since featuring the “Couch Guy” spot on their website during Clicklane’s introductory phase, they’ve seen a substantial increase in online purchases made through the service.
