This series is based on the book "The Andy Warhol Diaries" and gives the audience a look at a more vulnerable and honest portrayal that has been seen before. The goal was to create art that respected Andy Warhol's artistic style and vision without using his art in a literal way.
We worked closely with Netflix and The Andy Warhol Foundation, which is the keeper of Andy's legacy and brand, to create art that would be "Andy approved". They provided us with a small collection of images to use in our exploration. The editing process was extensive, trying to find the perfect images to tell the story, and finally landed on a set of images that worked beautifully for the campaign.
We received kudos from the client as well as the Andy Warhol foundation—which was huge. The key art was well-received in the art world, as well as with consumers.
