In celebration of the 230th anniversary of the US Constitution, 10 designers were asked to create a visualization of the Bill of Rights (first 10 amendments of the Constitution). Studio Hinrichs' assignment was to visualize the 8th Amendment as a poster for We The People.
The 8th amendment, which prohibits cruel and unusual punishment, was visualized as a human being peering out from behind a mask made of hard metal pieces including saws, grates, screws, drill bits, C-clamps, etc.
An exhibition was presented in New York City, on the anniversary date, with wild postings of the group of 10 posters all over the city.
