For this assignment, the class were to design a wearable app for a specific disability. The disability I chose to explore and design an app for is the visually impaired users. As part of the process, the class were to first explore 3 use case scenarios, then design User Interface and finally prototype the final design. These were all the components included in the process in order to get to the final result. This was a bit challenging in the beginning, especially when it came down to prototyping but I was able to come up with a solution by including a sound icon to indicate the voice-over function.
The approach for this particular concept for an app was to provide more support and guidance for the visually impaired users. The "Optiguide" is an app that creates a better experience for users by providing voice-guidance that narrates appointed tasks throughout the day. By sending out, it helps users to keep track of their work/life schedule and navigate to meetings / locations more easily.
The result in solving this specific case study for the visually impaired users was overall successful. The app offers not only navigating feature but also voice-over guidance that provides detailed description to enhance user's experience navigating the world. In addition, the app provides extra guidance with notification reminders that assist the users to keep track of their day to day life / work schedule.
