Based in San Antonio, Texas, The Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG) wanted to create a positive and informative public awareness campaign to promote COVID-19 vaccinations for populations within their 13-county regional footprint.

Legacy79 developed a multi-channel community outreach campaign that was unique, memorable, and played on Texas pride. The creative was designed to disarm segments of the population who were adverse because of either the politicization or widespread misinformation. We leveraged visually appealing illustrations of familiar characters of the Southwest under the campaign title of Texas Tall Tales.

From October to the end of the year (the period the campaign ran), we saw a 10% – 15% rate increase in vaccination rates in the counties we targeted.
