D&AD stimulate and inspire a community of creatives to look at things from a different perspective. For office signage, we created an anamorphic application of their logo to challenge perception, engage the viewer, and encourage them to solve the visual puzzle.
Inside we used D&AD’s assets for yellow hexagon toilet, showers and way-finding signage. Meeting rooms adopt D&AD founder naming and a colour system echoing the pencil awards themselves, complete with high gloss wood finish. And for wall and window vinyl signage we play with perspective,bending around corners or coming together as one from separate pieces.
This is such a tough brief for any design consultancy given D&AD’s mission centers on creative excellence. We asked for a signage solution that was attention-grabbing to the creative community that passes by. The D&AD anamorphic does exactly that.It hits you at a certain point in the approach, stops you in your tracks and cries out for a selfie to be taken.D&AD wanted its internal signage to add a feeling of playfulness to the clean lines and wood finishes in our new home.Through the simplicity of the pencil and hexagons quite literally drew fresh ways of expression and use of traditional way-finding iconography.
