The assignment was to choose an existing magazine and rebrand them.
The goal with this rebrand was to unify the magazine through a type system and color graded imagery. The type direction was aimed to feel tall, structured, and big, much like the architecture it was describing, but doing so in a playful way. The departments were designed to feature a different established or upcoming architect. The features would use a color scheme depending on the issue to connect the imagery throughout.
This editorial solution reflects the goals of the magazine while maintaining a beautiful visual style that both sets them apart from their competitors and is recognizable by their consumer base.
