For this project, I was assigned to take a still-life photograph. I experimented with various ideas and concepts since I want to bring the feeling of mystery into my photo.

To execute my concept, I decide to take a photo of a metal ashtray with smoke around it to create the feeling of mystery. By putting the dried ice inside, I can capture nice flow of smoke pouring from inside the ashtray. The only light source of this photo is from the left, which brings the shiny metal look on the left side of the ashtray.

This project ended up being successful. The concept was executed appropriately with careful attention the flows of the smoke and shadow on the ashtray.
