In line with some other fashion spreads for Cocoon Magazine, me and my team flew to the island of Mauritius. Of course you find plenty of beautiful beaches as a background for a swim fashion shoot there. But the assignment to this one was different: we wanted a plain background, some black and white story with just a splash of color, and not the typical palmtree setting.
The keys to this look were the background, the styling and the bright air bed that runs like a bright-yellow thread through our spread. Our stylist brought a great selection of all black, but still very different swim wear whith geometrical details. This was perfect for the reduced look we wanted to create. I wanted to work with natural light only.
I love the combination of geometry, the contrast of black and white and the bright yellow that breaks this simple reduction. Our very feminine model Megan did a great job and totally rocked the scene, so both our team and the editors were very happy with the outcome of our shoot.
