The client aims to produce a coffee beverage whose target customers are young people aged from 18 to 25. Therefore, they entrusted us to design the package for the product so as to get a share of the market of bottled coffee in China.
After a thorough study on the current market of bottled coffee and consuming trends of young people, the design team determined to apply some modern elements to the design for this case. The inspiration of the illustration came from a famous picture of WWII, VJ Day Kiss. The illustration is created in a pop art style with colorful display effect. The combo of colors and the application of the French-style typeface endow the package with a nostalgic and romantic feeling. The flowing lines on the graph reminds people of the taste of the coffee, which is as smooth and sweet as the illustration. Since the topic of romance is everlastingly popular regardless of age or sex, the package therefore helps to build up a brand image among customers through an interactive and resonant way.
The client is pleased with the design outcome as well as the printing proof. We were told that they did a miniature research for the product and received favorable comments from most testees. Now the product is about to be launched in China.
