The goal of this project was to create a logo to help rebrand the historic city of Detroit.
The process for this project began with the research of various cities and which has the most history that I could utilize in creating the mark. After completing the initial research and finding a city it was time to begin experimenting with the different symbols based on the city of Detroit’s history of music, cars, etc. The solution turned into combination of a car license plate and radio based on the nicknames “Motorcity” and “Motown” from history.
This logo is a success because of it’s simplicity and unexpected way of combining two different objects to represent a city.
