The Centre Pompidou × West Bund Museum Project presented an unprecedented Kandinsky exhibition, the very first retrospective of the artist in China, from 1 May to 19 September 2021 in Shanghai. With the opening of this special exhibition “Kandinsky — The Pioneer of Abstract Art”, a series of public educational events were held centering on the theme of Kandinsky's philosophy of art, including lectures, concerts, music appreciation, and summer camp for kids. We invited professors from various well-known universities in Shanghai as mentors, speakers, and musicians for events.
Based on the artworks involved in each event, I selected certain visual elements from them to create posters that match the tone of the events.
Whether the audience comes to the museum or they just browse online, all these event posters and information could be found online and offline. The audience was always attracted to the information desk by these visual materials and glad to see the information shown in a clear and visual way which they could grab information efficiently.
