Our challenge was create art that capitalized on the traits of the Tiger – vigor, enthusiam, self confidence and a commitment to help others for the greater good – with unique and stunning graphics. We partnered with a Monyee Chau, a queer Taiwanese, Chinese American artist based in the Seattle area to create a gorgeous suite of custom art. Chau brought their deep interest in Chinese mythology and divination to the project to create marquee illustrations including tigers, plum blossoms, clouds, and a beautiful four-panel landscape. WONGDOODY’s design team employed the illustrations to create bold window displays and an 8-foot-tall 3D art installation in the heart of the store, thus visually incorporating the retail space into the larger LNY parade and celebration.
