Transforming what was once a sterile lobby of travertine, limestone and glass, a 100-foot long LED screen was installed to bring a dynamic, and talked-about sensory experience to Salesforce employees, customers, and the public at large.
Experiences include a water wall, the California redwoods, and a flowing river — among others. The water wall, based on actual fluid dynamics, creates a sensation of pure energy as the water cascades over the elevator bays. The California redwoods, shot at scale, give onlookers the sense of peering through the forest as ferns sway gently in the breeze. All experiences have a sound design to further immerse the viewer, as well as Easter egg surprises to keep the audience engaged.
When people walk off the street and into the lobby to simply snap a photo, the Pixelscape has met its objective: create a “wow” factor for the Salesforce brand beyond B2B. With numerous video uploads, many articles on local and regional blogs, hundreds of hashtags, and millions of views, the Pixelscape is social media sensation.
