- Title
- The Interview
Assignment
The project was to encapsulate a social issue that occurred in the world from any time period and to represent that issue in a metaphorical poster.
Approach
The issue I chose at the time was the issue about the movie "The Interview" being pulled from theaters due to North Korean threats. I took that as North Korea stripping away our American rights of speech and liberty. After a series of sketches, there came the idea of America being taken hostage by North Korea if we did not abide by their demands. North Korea in the poster is set to be this daunting and intimidating enemy that comes from the shadows which envelops most of the composition. America at the same time, is tied up and helpless to the North Korean power.
Results
The final composition of the poster evoked emotions from multiple people as an intimidating force with heavy dark tone vibes, which is what the poster was set to do. It also settles the issue in taking the two entities and showing who's in power and who's bending at their wills.
