The goal of this piece was to raise awareness of the government-mandated discrimination in many countries against people living with HIV.
Approach
The image was inspired by extreme travel restrictions placed on people who test positive for HIV, making them virtual prisoners in their own countries. The use of the internationally recognized symbol for AIDS—the red ribbon—combined with the fence made this piece universally understood.
Results
This poster reached a wide international audience through its inclusion in exhibitions and publications.
