This photo was part of a campaign for Walls Outdoor Goods with 2TWO1 agency, to showcase their new line of clothing in the toughest conditions. Additionally, the photography style needed to speak to the grittiness of the work.

We scouted for heavy industry locations throughout Colorado, and chose this granite quarry as one of our principle locations. I lit this photo with four strobes: one on each side of the worker, and two in the back of the quarry, to create an edgy and dynamic look.

The results are a photo that feels moody, edgy, and tough. Quarry lighting can be relatively dingy, so we augmented the ambient light for a more dramatic result.
