Grilstad has built a reputation for high quality ingredients and experienced butchery. Its range of cured meats and sausages offer the market an appetising alternative to other beer snacks. These are popular throughout Norway and have become one of Grilstad’s best sellers.
With a desire to retain established brand equity and to build on product legacy, whilst also bringing visual identity up to date, we worked with Grilstad to redesign and revitalise the packaging for the cured meat and sausage range with the intention of reaching a larger market and providing further differentiation from competitors.
Using bright colours and a black background, and through a combination of illustrative and typographic flourish, set alongside the bold and modern, our design direction delivers a strong sense of character and product quality, a sense of craft and implying a flavourful meaty taste. It balances consumer familiarity, brand history and premium quality with a modern shelf impact within a typically traditional and conservative market category.
