STEP Platform is a transformable wheel-based mobile platform for service robots. With this platform, wheels can overcome obstacles(e.g. stairs) by transforming into three divided arcs using 2-degrees-of-freedom. The identity design for the STEP Platform was commissioned.
The main objective of the STEP Platform is to overcome obstacles(especially stairs) by means of transforming the wheels into three separate arcs. This principle must be intuitively visualizable especially for non-scientists.
The identity design was done successfully, and it has been applied to many possible applications of the STEP Platform.
