This assignment was to create a “typographic fantasia” poster wherein traditional typeface forms are explored and manipulated to complement an overarching theme and aesthetic.
This poster was heavily motivated by the band Phish and the fictional world of Gamehendge--the backdrop to many of their songs. The overall design was inspired by medieval illuminated manuscripts and Bicycle playing cards. A blackletter typeface is featured to emphasize the fantastical setting, narrative, and characters of Gamehendge.
This project was created for an advanced typography course at Colorado State University where it received an A.
