I created this mosaic portrait of President Zelensky in the very first days of the war. I have married a Ukrainian woman and I have family in Ukraine. So I know firsthand the nightmare the people of this country is living. But I also know their determination, their courage, and their heroic stance. A nation fighting for values that sometimes we are taking for granted.

I have chosen V. Zelensky as the main person of this fight. The main reason is that it's really unusual to find a leader who is risking his own life and interests to fight for ideals.
I have created his portrait with traditional Ukrainian fabrics. I know them from my wife. They are celebrating earth, nature, happiness, family, work... I have combined them with photos from the war and photos from Ukraine.
Type is added in embroidery style. I have chosen PF Marlet, a humanist typeface that is so elegant and somehow very optimistic.
I wanted to show how things are but at the same time to make a statement. Ukraine will win. Ukraine will pick up the pieces and rebuild. Ukraine will find its way to a democratic and prosperous future.

The file I have uploaded is obviously a low res version. I believe that the full resolution version is better for showing all the details of the textures and the richness of the various elements.
