The task at hand was to choose one of a few existing dielines, decide what product should go in it, and design the packaging for it. I decided on soaps, specifically all-natural and hypoallergenic soaps for sensitive skin. Finding the right products for sensitive skin is an annoyance to many, and Calla Lily Soap Co. provides a simple and easy option. Completely all-natural, hypoallergenic, and scented with essential oils, these soaps work for any skin type. In a skincare world increasingly dominated by neon colors, I chose to go the opposite route. Neon colors communicate harsh ingredients, not bare, naked, natural ingredients. The colors I chose mimic various skin tones. The illustrations are depictions of some of the natural ingredients used for each scent pack. The copy on each panel was written by me, and it places high importance on the ingredients of the soaps, which is a very important feature when it comes to sensitive skin.

The packaging does as it was intended to do. It communicates natural ingredients and isn't too flashy. It's scaled back, delicate, and calm, just like the soap. If a potential customer has any questions about the soap or their skin's safety, it's all answered right there on the package.
