The goal for this Project was to create an identity for a very loosely branded Printmaking show. The show captures the spirit of printmaking, yet it has no cohesive brand identity that the Event itself is known for. Using the logo i created, I wanted to create a visual system that compliments the event, the artists, and the attendants.
The process of creating my identity for Flatstock is by aiming for what design could easily be utilized for an event like this. Flatstock is a show that happens annually, and people love their merch. My main touch points were built based on what I would like to see at the event. Badges, banners, t-shirts, etc. I wanted all these things to complement each other and create their own element of the show. I chose the CMYK color palette to subtly hint at another insider printmaking element
The project was successful in unifying a brand with a well-designed logo and simple visual system. The choice in color scheme is a subtle touch that will be appreciated by printmakers. the clean, premium presentation allows the perceived status of the event to be elevated, while also not taking away from the artists that are featured.
