A behind-the-scenes commemorative book for the groundbreaking Broadway smash "Hamilton." Lin-Manuel Miranda provides extensive footnotes for his libretto.
The text for "Hamilton: The Revolution" takes a more literate approach than the average making-of Broadway book, and we wanted the design to reflect that. We used historically accurate fonts for the libretto, with a more modern version of those fonts for the chapter text. Special production touches like hubs on the spine, thick textured cream paper, and deckle edged pages make the book feel like a volume that could be on Hamilton's bookshelves. Much of the photography was specially commissioned for this book.
The creators of the show ecstatic with the results, and fans seem to feel the same way; since it's publication it's been a New York Times bestseller and was the number 1 selling book on Amazon.com for the first week of it's release. The reviews for the book have been extremely positive, many making note of the design.
