To produce a contagious artwork, a survey in a small group of people is conducted before starting the project. A key insight found in the survey. Some people already know that there is a lack of water resources in many places, but it is hard to empathise as living in a city with sufficient water supply. Therefore, the artwork is expected to connect the results of water shortage with something common in urban life in a visual language.
After a series of search and brainstorming, a house plant is used to represent the main object connecting the Earth element. The main reason is that many people associate the indoor plant with vitality, health, good mood and well-being which all related to people themselves. So what will the plant look like without water? Will people have a deeper feeling when they see such an image? The artwork will be based on the idea and insight to convert a visual image.
