UnternehmerTUM and the City of Munich are jointly building a new innovation and start-up centre for Smart City Solutions - the Munich Urban Colab. Starting in 2020, start-ups, corporate innovators, scientists and creative minds from various industries and disciplines will work under one roof on intelligent technologies and services for the city of the future. Innovations in the fields of mobility, living and working, trade, energy supply, etc. are developed and tested here.
The Bookazine has been published in order to communicate the approach of the Munich Urban Colab already in the construction phase. It not only explains the concept and the basic strategy of the start-up centre, but also introduces its topic and introduces the partners involved at the same time. The Bookazine is the intellectual thinking space and mirror of the many facets of the Munich Urban Colab.
As in the triad of the name, the principle of trinity is also reflected in the structure of the Bookazine. The interaction of the respective three parts, Munich-Urban-Colab and Start-Ups-Corporates-Creatives, opens up areas of tension with regard to the thematic focus Smart City Solutions, cooperation, partners and target groups. The Bookazine is a symbiosis of magazine and book. If the open binding with visible thread reminds more of a book, the inside pages are as dynamic and lively as those of a magazine. Here, too, the theme of the triangular areas of tension was visually transferred into the visual language and typography, for example into the chapter separators. The unusual colour concept with strongly contrasting combinations such as neon orange and ruby red underlines the progressive design concept.
Positive feedback from the customer and the target group.
