Our main goal for this campaign was to illustrate than even the smartest people in our society were kids at one point in their life. Kids make mistakes all the time, and that's okay! It's good to make mistakes because it means you're learning. Astronauts, geologist, engineers etc. all started off as kids, making messes and getting into trouble. We wanted to show that the Perot Museum of Nature & Science is the right place to bring your future astronauts, even if they're not quite ready for space, yet.
We started by coming up with the best scenes to advertise. We needed to show, "kids being kids". The message of the campaign is entirely based off of that truth. We searched for the best images that illustrated this point perfectly. The iconic red brackets were used to further emphasis the children in the images. To give the ads more relatability, we had a kid write out each profession, and used their handwriting in the design. The last line of the body copy was used to reinforce the message that, "We know what potential looks like, and it looks just like this."
Overall, we were met with positive feedback from our peers and professors alike. They enjoyed the simplicity of the design, and the truth that the ads showcased.
