The Annual Fall REtreat was a three-day event held in Miami for real estate agents of Compass. Over 1,700 nationwide agents travelled to participate in a variety of programs with the goal of networking, learning ways to improve their business and grow their referral network.
The event branding for this project included a series of directional signage and posters. All of which were inspired by Miami. We are lucky to live amongst many preserved Art Deco buildings, some still painted in colors commonly used in the 20s. Pink and teal are common colors here – think flamingos, palm trees, the Miami Dolphins, even Super Bowl LIV. We chose these elements because they’re easy to distinguish for wayfinding purposes and they encapsulate a timeless sentiment of our bright region.
The first actionable thing we did was walk through the spaces where the events were taking place. Doing so helped us to envision the scale of the pieces we were going to work on, how agents would navigate through the environment, and solutions for wayfinding signage.
We then created a branding system and guidelines to ensured an efficient process from the beginning. This system included pattern, color implementation, supplementary design elements, and typography treatment.
In retrospect, we turned out 120 outputs in less than two months—welcoming over 1,700 real estate agents nationwide. The project was an overall success for the company as it was the largest retreat to date and received positive feedback from agents and senior leadership.
