Assignment
Chapas Sinicas (Chinese documents) is a collection of records of Macao during the Qing Dynasty. The collection comprises official letters written in Chinese, the Portuguese translated copies of the letters and other miscellaneous documents that were created mainly from the mid-eighteenth century to the mid-nineteenth century.The collection was inscribed onto the UNESCO Memory of the World Register on 30 October 2017. Create this set of stamps using some elements from the original tattered old document.
Approach
The most challenging part in the design of these stamp products was the selection of elements from the historic Chinese records. Each image includes words or meaningful characters complemented with signs and seals to give fullness to the design and enable easy understanding of stories being told about Macao during that period in history.
Results
This set of stamps was issued in Macau on June 7, 2018 and printed in France. The public is very accepting, because it is designed with some old important documents of Macao, and It has historical value.
