The goal was to creatively convey the message of the book in a contemporary way that weaved several elements from the story into one cohesive look.

Exactly as planned. The idea came together with one illustration, and momentum was gained after combining another illustration, and another, etc. The early plan was to eventually suggest a foil stamp treatment to the artwork, and that’s what sealed this design in the end.
