Bacio makes food approachable, feeding customers’ desire to experience, discover and learn. But, when faced with restrictions on serving capacity dueto Covid, the management team of this Twin Cities restaurant felt the need to create new ways to serve customers, including curbside delivery, to-go meals and cocktails, and the purchase of a food truck (the largest in the state). Mobile, the restaurant had a new way to diversify its menu and expand its customer base across the metro area, but the truck needed a design as tasty as the food it would serve.
With an inviting name and a bold, graphic illustrative approach to the truck, the design expresses plenty of personality, portraying the restaurant’s made-from-scratch approach and a fun, social atmosphere. Illustrative elements were also used to promote the new offering on tee shirts and within other promotional communications.
The truck is not only a great visual marker at remote sites, but is also an effective promotion, traveling to locales all around the metro area. The truck extends both the restaurant’s geography and menu, expanding opportunities to create and showcase new food experiences.
