This assignment was inspired by a series of typographically driven calendars Wim Crouwel did in the 1960s.

Taking their cues from Wim Crouwel's work, the students were encouraged to cast aside convention and come up with new ideas of what a calendar could look like. In so doing they experimented with typography, image and composition. Kristin explored themes of layering and unconventional grouping schemes in her piece.

This project was a fantastic success and the students learned a lot about type and composition!
