Assignment
Plinth is a boutique winery in Napa Valley owned by Jason and Flora Chang. The focus for this winery, their second after the successful launch of Nine Suns, is to create world class products that elevate stories told between friends and the experiences that connect the senses, places, people and occasions that surround wine.
Approach
Landor worked with a Paris based fashion illustrator, Juliette Lavat, to create a character, The Flaneur, that embodies the timeless qualities of curiosity, openness, and wanderlust. We created a fantastic and lyrical back story for this traveler, and in addition to the hero character, commissioned three additional images for the different modes of transportation he would use to traverse air, sea, and land.
Results
These illustrations form the core of the brand and are the basis for a visual identity that communicates the luxury and craftsmanship of the wine, and flexes across environments, merchandise, and marketing materials.
