I illustrated this piece during the peak of Covid Lockdown when I was battling a severe artist block due the isolation. I felt unmotivated, uncreative, and claustrophobic in my 220 square feet studio apartment. My goal was to get out of this state and start creating

To overcome this challenge, I thought about my neighbors who are living in the same building and are probably going through their own hardships due to Covid lockdown. So I started imagining what their studio would look like and how they spend their time at home based on occasional two minute interactions I had with them in the elevator.

Instead of forcing myself to be creative, I successfully overcame my artist block by using the situation I was in as an inspiration. This illustration holds a special place in my heart because of the lesson it taught me.
