This assignment was inspired by a series of typographically driven calendars Wim Crouwel did in the 1960s.
Approach
Taking their cues from Wim Crouwel's work, the students were encouraged to cast aside convention and come up with new ideas of what a calendar could look like. In so doing they experimented with typography, image and composition. Sarah juxtaposed the classic landscape photography of Ansel Adams with modernist and unconventional typography.
Results
This project was a fantastic success and Oriana learned a lot about type and composition!
