I read an article online about a decoy carver that I couldn’t resist pursuing. Chandler Sawyer is an 11th generation Currituck County, North Carolina resident. His ancestors received an original
Land grant from the English Crown giving them a large swath of land from the
Atlantic Ocean stretching many miles inland. When you come from a lineage of farmers,
Fishermen and hunters, decoy carving is more a job requirement than a hobby.
