The assignment for this project was portraits. One portrait had to be done in the studio while the other could be done outside of studio lighting. This one was the one done outside of the studio.

While looking looking at inspiration I got an ad for neon paint and that spurred an idea. To explore how neon and light can change the mood. I got a black light, glow in the dark paint, and shiny glitter stars. I cleared a spot in my dorm room and set up the black light with help from my wonderful roommates. At first the neon paint was controlled just to the model's face however as the I continued I added more paint as well as different colors. I also noticed the way that the light was reacting with the walls, it gave it an underwater, haze like feel.

The project went well. It received a decent grade but I got helpful critique to make it better which I went back and fixed and that is the photograph you are now seeing. Personally I liked a lot of shots from that photoshoot and that it was successful with capturing the neon and light.
