Chair design based on a personal story about vulnerability.
A conversation of materials that creates disruption and balance simultaneously. A walnut frame embraces a cushion of ivory white bouclé (curled) upholstery, designed for chairs that you can “really curl up in.” Meanwhile, walnut is a pioneer wood. Its strength allows it to be first to grow before other plants following damage to its ecosystem.
When we display our authentic, imperfect selves to the world, we forge deeper connections. Not only with others, but with our innermost selves. The Alexandra armchair represents exploration and acceptance. The chair welcomes the human anatomy into a sinuous, ergonomic frame while anchoring it to the ground with a plush foundation.
