The purpose of this project was to explore microinteractions and the idea of delight in UX through the design of a habit-tracking app prototype.
I decided to approach the project with the idea of making a habit out of learning new things; the goal was to create an experience that encourages daily learning without being overwhelming. To accomplish this, I included simple accessibility options for ease of use in a wider variety of contexts, opportunities for customization that allow the user to tailor the lessons to their interests, and progress-tracking features to encourage daily use. Visually, I tried to create a clean but friendly interface using original illustrations and neumorphic design principles.
Nutshell provides the user with daily, illustrated, bite-sized lessons that can be read or listened to. The lessons are tailored to the user’s interests, but explore a variety of subjects drawn from one of seven core fields of knowledge: history, literature, philosophy, science, religion, fine arts, and music. Nutshell is perfect for anyone who's curious and enjoys learning new things but might not have the time or motivation to do so independently.
