Design Concept Statement Faculty in Visual Communication Design Department at SAIC asked me to make poster for Katherine Walker’s lecture. Walker is a Chicago-based graphic designer. “Exhibitionism and Voyeurism” became the key concepts behind my design. From a distance, you get limited information, just time and location. The poster is seductive, and asks the audience to come close. I wanted to give information gradually. I wanted to give information gradually. Audience can approach each step of information to discover who is the lecturer. At first, time and location placed on top layer and then information all about her. I drew attention to the name of lecturer by curling the pages up around it. This naturally created beautifully distorted typography on the top layer following curling pages.
