Worked with Art Director, Matt Dorfman on the cover for the inaugural issue of The New York Times Book Review. The issue focused on a variety of stories related to the duties of the POTUS and the legacy those who had previously held the office.
Since the cover needed to represent a wide variety of stories, we thought it best to focus on the opening words of the Presidential oath itself, an oath that remains consistent regardless of the party or politics of whom is being sworn in.
We achieved the final illustration through a combination of techniques involving printing, physical manipulation, photography and photoshop.
The art director was very happy with the piece and it ran on the cover of the Book Review on 1/22/17.
