For a class project, I was tasked with creating a poster that demonstrated typographic hierarchy.
I've always been fascinated by the bold personas of professional athletes. Dennis Rodman certainly stands out as one of the most eccentric athletes of all, which inspired me to imagine a documentary about his life. Rather than just focusing on his wacky style and brute strength on the court, I wanted to highlight a lesser known aspect of his life: his journey from fatherless to fatherhood. The title aligns with the basketball-hoop-halo that surrounds his head and the ethereal clouds in the background. I purposefully chose a symmetrical, dramatic image of Rodman in reference to ancient religious paintings that often feature head-on portraits of saints and religious figures.
This piece was featured in a student portfolio show at SMU, and received accolades from the professor for which it was created.
