The assignment was to pick a Legend, Myth or Story and Illustrate that narrative. I chose The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe. The trick is to stay true to tell the story accurately and in a compelling way.
I wanted to depict the hight of the narrative, where the narrator is taken by his madness. From concept sketch to finished illustration I was concerned with the psychological state of the characters, as well as the body language, and tone.
Beyond meeting the goals that I set out for the project and design choices, I found a large amount of satisfaction in the shape design. Also in the beautiful texture of the watercolor.
