Students were randomly assigned a product and had to create a logo for it.
The product assigned was a bird-shaped silhouette clothespin. With this logo it was important to reflect the simplicity of the product while trying to justify why it should be bought. Through the use of minimal lines, the logo instantly communicates how easy the product is to use (it is a clothespin after all). This minimalism, in turn, leads to a logo that elevates the status of the product to something more elegant, all while still retaining the playful characteristics that make this clothespin different form the others. Having the bird perched on a branch serves as a subtle nod to the way the clothespins rest on cables.
The logo was praised for its simplicity, yet effective communication of a bird. It effectively conveyed the brand of the product at a quick glance and remains recognizable due to its uncomplicated nature.
